If you listen to my podcast or read my messageboard you will know I hate people who steal content. I create a lot of fresh content on a daily basis. Recently, some stole my whole article. He took my article word for word, title and all. The only thing he did was swap out my name and bio. I was pissed to say the least.
The site that posted the article pulled it. I confronted the thief himself. He claims he wrote it, even though I wrote it back in March. Plus, it is on at least 100 sites that list me as the author. I then started to go through his site. I am sure if he steals articles he would steal content. Sure enough, every page on his site is stolen.
I contacted everyone that he had stolen from. I encouraged them to contact his hosting company. Hopefully, this will get him to remove all of it. I feel sorry for anyone who has done business with him. He also offers a content writing service. I am pretty sure they would have received nothing but stolen content.
Thanks to Copyscape http://www.copyscape.com/ I was able to find the owners of the original content. Be sure to check your content regularly, especially if it pulls well on the engines. These crooks usually type in a phrase and take the content off a site that is either written well, or pulls well, sometimes both.
If you are a victim of stolen content present your case to the hosting company’s attention. They will help you get it removed.
