Blogs and Twitter…Perfect Together
Blogs take time and effort to establish. Twitter is a free-form method of communication that zaps captured audiences like the tentacles of a giant squid. Blog plus Twitter equals Substantiation. This is the equation that one should keep in mind when moving easily between blog and Twitter. Tweets trumpet attention to specific subjects, events or people. Once a blog is established, it has a tendency to become sedentary. Twitter is a tool that can draw maximum interest and attention to a blog. One method for establishing your own blog community is to gather the attention of a supportive “core” group. Once the core group is established, Tweets will do the rest with lightening speed. Plan ahead. If a blog has an already established core group, use Twitter to enlarge the realm of the core group. Nothing is as effective to bloggers as gathering the most interesting material for a blog, except perhaps, gathering blog recognition. One of the easiest ways to do this is to use Twitter to add dimension to blog topics. Of course, one other way is to Tweet to those with name recognition on the topic. Imagine the magical enhancement of having a Twitter Guest of the Day provide insight on the blog topic.

Avoid The Mundane
The most attention-getting Tweets are those with the most mutual interest. Choose blog topics that will create the most Tweets. Know your blog audience and their likes and dislikes. That’s key to successful inter-relationships between Twitter and blogs. This inter-relationship should be virtually seamless, or as seamless as possible in the ultimate vernacular. Refine communication so that it is absolutely direct and to the point. Miscommunication with Twitter results in minimal attention with the ripple effect of minimal interest in your blog. Avoid mundane and trifling topics. Avoid too, mundane and ineffective Tweets. Know the intent of your blog and the topic and then, produce a “direct hit” with Twitter.

Using Twitter To Make Better Blogs
Twitter can be used to make better blogs. This is similar to a stage where all the world is the audience and in order to retain star status, you have to leave your audience wanting more. Twitter does that for blogs if Tweets are presented compatibly. It may also be necessary to go for the dramatic to catch initial attention. Like show business, that’s the entertainment contained in blogs and Twitter. Just like show business, maintain your blog with all the right timing, presentation and costuming. Or, even with the aid of Twitter, the disconnect between Twitter and blog will be obvious. Every blog has a “beating heart”. In other words, the central theme that the blogger uses to exploit their personal style and preferences. Keep that heart beating strong enough with the aid of Twitter and it remains alive and healthy long past other blogs’ demise. This form of substantiation changes the blog to one with a two-pronged avenue of name recognition: an active blogging audience and wanting Twitter audience.
